Melodic’s vast musical taste started with frequent trips to the record store with his dad as young kid, coming home with stacks of vinyl.. mostly jazz & soul surrounded by hundreds of records in his dads collection melodic would frequently sit for hours & play records.. discovering everything from Donald Byrd to Jimi Hendrix, to Traffic to the Rolling Stones.. at the same time melodic discovered the newly launched cable network television station know as MTV.. which he would watch religiously starting in the morning while eating cereal to getting home from school.
Years later MTV released “YO! MTV RAPS” and later “120 MINUTES” which was a favorite of melodic’s introducing him to the likes of indie rock & new wave.. Another notable music television show was BET which they viewed mostly Soul/R&B, Jazz & even Gospel
To say the least growing up, Melodic has taken influence from a wide spectrum of musical genres which is displayed in his DJ sets..
Melodic began his journey an apprentice of DJ Sun & soon developing his own style of spinning soul,jazz,groove & electronic music.. soon melodic joined Dj Sun in SOULAR GROOVES a radio show on K.P.F.T 90.1 which began in 1995 & continues this present day
